To save me having to recall and pitch these on the spot, these are the tools that I use regularly (and often pay for) with a little reasoning.
Obviously subject to review.
Roam
Not particularly friendly, beautiful nor cheap but super-powerful with block-level backlinks and seamless sidebar working. Still discovering new ways of working with graph-based knowledge.
This is where I dump thoughts and leads with some hope of organising them in future.
Workflowy
Less powerful than Roam but way friendlier and beautiful on mobile. Works for quick notes and lookup anyway. Copy day notes to Roam in review.
Notion
Top support for database and team-sharing make this best for managing projects.
Readwise
Originally just made Kindle highlighting valuable, now includes Reader: a top-class aggregator / read-it-later tool.
Toggl
Despite garish colour, this is the best app I’ve found for client time tracking. Works across devices so I can have it on a mobile device on the side.
